I study amphibians on the west coast of the island, and I'm always looking for information about sightings, especially of species at risk - Red-legged Frogs and Western Toads, and introduced Bullfrogs. Our organization organizes volunteers to keep an eye out for bullfrogs on the west coast around Ucluelet and Tofino. We don't have any here yet. We've also installed a tunnel as an underpass for amphibians along Hwy 4 last May. Do you know of any places in Port Alberni where amphibians are being killed on roadways? Hi Sandy,
