The Port Alberni Snow Bus Is an Early-season Success
I thought I’d tap out a quick not to say that after the first two weeks of the season on Mount Washingtson Alpine Resort, the Snow Bus has been full on half its runs and close to full on the others. The weather this weekend could have been better but the enthusiasm of the boarders is amazing. But last weekend the weather was quite good.
I learned about a nice perk for the bus drivers. They get free lift tickets for taking the kids up to the Ski Resort. Sweeet!
Personally, I’m not much on snowboarding. I’m a skier from way back. I grew up on skiis at Camp Fortune north of Ottawa, Canada. Who would have thought back then that I would have been skiing regularly on the slopes of Mount Washington, Vancouver Island’s premier ski and snow-boarding resort. Life takes us in some amazing directions.
On another note, recently the Alberni Valley Environmental Coalition finally published a long-awaited trails booklet of many of the trails around the Alberni Valley. This is the second edition of this booklet. More on this on another post.
Bye.
