The JV Clyne Bird Sanctuary

Posted by Sandy McRuer on August 18th, 2006

Once in a while I get a call or an email from someone wanting to know about the JV Clyne Bird Sanctuary. JV Clyne was some executive for MacMillan Bloedel, the big timber company that was bought by Weyerhaeuser, which then was bought by Brascan etc. Ya, this is pretty ancient history. Anyway, the area formerly known as the JV Clyne Bird Sanctuary now doesn’t really have a name other than the Somass Estuary Project. It’s still there, but it is owned by Ducks Unlimited now. I’ve created a site guide with a map showing how to get there. I’ve been working out how to get it up on the site. I think I got it…
